Hotel Le Chateau Fort mieści się w unikatowej średniowiecznej twierdzy w Sedan. Was a unique experience to stay in the top of a castle. Our room had a door that opened onto the ramparts allowing us to walk around in the evening. It was off season so hardly any other guests there. Restaurant and bar were closed but a short drive put us at a recommended restaurant. The room was modern and comfy and quiet.

Stay in Hotel Le Pélican, located in Charleville-Mézières, home town of the French poet Rimbaud. It is a 10-minute walk and 5-minute drive from the centre. It was very clean; our room & bathroom were large & well-appointed; the location was nice; the bed was comfortable; the flowers in the window-boxes were lovely; the buffet breakfast was wonderful; the manager was friendly & courteous, although we didn’t speak the same languages.

The breakfast was continental style and plentiful. The hotel was a short distance from the river with some lovely walks.
